In the early hours of a spring morning in Newark, New Jersey, the life of 27-year-old Malik Carson was tragically cut short. On May 10, 2019, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Carson was in the 100 block of Mount Prospect Avenue when he was fatally shot. Emergency services arrived at the scene and transported him to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later at 2:07 a.m.
