On a Friday morning in East Orange, New Jersey, the life of Wali H Jalil, a 32-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On November 6, 2020, just before 9:30 a.m., gunfire erupted in the 100 block of Ashland Avenue. When police arrived at the scene, they found Jalil suffering from bullet wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
