Hector Torres, a 43-year-old man from Trenton, New Jersey, died on Monday, November 1, 2021, after being shot the previous night. The shooting occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 31, 2021, in front of the Diamond in the Rough bar located in the 500 block of Lamberton Street in Trenton.
Police were alerted to the incident by a Shot Spotter activation at approximately 12:45 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found Torres suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in critical condition. A second man was also wounded in the incident, having sustained a gunshot wound to the neck, and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Torres succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital on the evening of November 1, 2021, surrounded by his family. His death was the 34th homicide in Trenton in 2021. The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Shooting Response Team are investigating the shooting.
As of late 2025, there have been no publicly available reports detailing any arrests or the identification of any suspects in connection with the shooting death of Hector Torres. The investigation into his murder remains ongoing.
