In the early evening chill of a New Jersey winter, tragedy struck on a quiet street in Irvington. On Monday, January 3, 2022, a report of a man suffering from gunshot wounds brought Irvington Police to the 100 block of Cleremont Avenue at approximately 6:58 p.m. There, they discovered Kevin L. Williams, a 34-year-old Black man from the neighboring city of Newark. Despite the swift response of emergency services, Williams was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:24 p.m.
