In the early evening of Sunday, April 6, 2020, just before 8 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet near the intersection of Lyons and Union avenues in Irvington, New Jersey. When the chaos subsided, two men were found to have been shot. One of the victims was 65-year-old Lawrence Peterson, a resident of nearby Newark.
