In the North Ward of Newark, the afternoon of June 27, 2022, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When Newark Police responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 2:47 p.m., they discovered a grim scene near the intersection of Broadway and Montclair Avenue. There, near an apartment building, lay 30-year-old Brandon T. Tisdol, a resident of Newark. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including to his head, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
