In the early morning hours of June 14, 1971, a horrific scene unfolded inside a red-brick house at 1970 Hazelwood Street in Detroit, Michigan, forever etching the address in the city's history. Among the eight individuals whose lives were violently cut short that day was Narcissa Lee Tessie Brown, a 19-year-old African-American woman. The incident, which would come to be known as the Hazelwood massacre, stands as the largest mass murder in Detroit's history.
