Charles Lee Burton, a 32-year-old railroad fireman from Jackson, Michigan, was tragically murdered on December 30, 1978. His death was part of a series of killings attributed to Rudy Bladel, infamously known as "The Railway Sniper." Bladel, a former railroad worker, embarked on a killing spree targeting railroad employees, driven by a deep-seated grudge stemming from job-related grievances.
