Mehman Singh, a 31-year-old clerk at the Log Cabin Party Store in Jackson, Michigan, was tragically killed on the night before Thanksgiving, November 23, 2016. Singh was working alone at the store on the 500 Block of 4th Street when three men attempted to rob the establishment. Two of the men entered the store, while a third stood guard at the door. One of the intruders, armed with a long gun, shot Singh in the neck. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Singh succumbed to his injuries.
