In the spring of 1984, what began as a simple act of kindness cost a man his life, leaving a community to grapple with a senseless act of violence. On April 15th of that year, Robert Baranski, a 36-year-old male, offered a ride to an acquaintance, Richard Clarey. This chance encounter would prove to be fatal for Baranski. At some point after getting into the vehicle, Clarey shot Robert Baranski, ending his life.
