On a spring morning in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the life of 24-year-old Kovonta Terreal Martin was tragically cut short. On April 4, 2023, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Martin was discovered with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Westchester Woods Apartments on Little Drive. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The incident, which also involved the theft of Martin's vehicle, marked the first homicide in Kalamazoo for that year.
