On May 11, 2018, the body of 25-year-old Tariq Alsumiri was discovered in an orchard near the intersection of Oakmore and Cartmill in Tulare, California. The Tulare County Sheriff's Office initiated a homicide investigation immediately upon the discovery. An autopsy conducted on May 15, 2018, revealed that Alsumiri had died from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. This tragic incident prompted a thorough investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit of the Tulare County Sheriff's Office.
