Jonathan Ramirez, a 23-year-old resident of Tulare, California, tragically lost his life on May 21, 2021. The incident occurred when Ramirez was approached by two individuals while he was sitting in his vehicle on South F Street. The assailants, identified as Julio Cesar Madrigal and Jose Barraza, both known gang members, shot Ramirez in what authorities believe was a robbery attempt. Ramirez was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
The Tulare Police Department launched an immediate investigation into the shooting. Both Madrigal and Barraza had extensive criminal histories and were considered armed and dangerous. Madrigal, who had recently been released from prison after serving time for a previous gang-related murder, and Barraza, with a long record of violent crimes, were quickly identified as the primary suspects. The police issued warrants for their arrest and initiated a manhunt.
