Fernando Orozco was tragically killed on December 10, 1998, while working behind the counter of LaCorona Liquor Store at 1614 South Michigan Street in South Bend, Indiana. On that fateful day, a suspect entered the store and began firing a handgun, striking Orozco multiple times. Despite efforts to save him, Orozco succumbed to his injuries and died from the gunshot wounds.
