In the pre-dawn hours of November 25, 2001, the quiet intersection of Beardsley and Conn Avenue in Elkhart, Indiana, became the scene of a grim discovery. At approximately 3:30 a.m., a passerby stumbled upon a chilling sight: the lifeless body of a man lying in the street next to his gray Honda Accord.
