In the early hours of November 25, 2001, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Elkhart Police responded to a report of a man down at the intersection of Beardsley and Conn Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of 31-year-old Roderick Hunt lying in the street, just outside his gray Honda Accord sedan. Mr. Hunt had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.
