On the afternoon of December 23, 2003, 24-year-old Arthur Jermaine Bland was at his home located at 1013 Superior Street in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Armed individuals confronted him inside his residence, and the encounter tragically ended with Bland being shot multiple times. He ultimately succumbed to his wounds.
In the course of the investigation, law enforcement identified a suspect who was subsequently charged with armed robbery in connection with the incident, though this individual was not convicted. Investigators have expressed a belief that the person who actually fired the fatal shots may have been from the Detroit area. The case has since been reactivated and is being investigated by the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force in Berrien County. To aid in the investigation, a reward has been offered for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of those involved in the murder of Arthur Jermaine Bland.
