On July 10, 2012, a tragic murder-suicide occurred at the RidgeCrest Health Campus in Summit Township, Michigan. The incident involved an elderly married couple, Paul Matteson, aged 89, and his wife, Mary Matteson. Mary, an 87-year-old White/Caucasian female, was a patient at the facility where she was recovering from a broken hip. At approximately 10:45 a.m., Paul Matteson entered his wife's room at the assisted living and medical care center located near Jackson, Michigan.
