In a tragic act of domestic violence, 30-year-old Dominique Parchmon, a Black female, was killed on January 5, 2022, in her Wayne, Michigan, apartment. The incident also resulted in the death of her 18-year-old sister, Shyanna Hall.
The sisters were shot multiple times following a heated argument between Parchmon and her live-in boyfriend, 32-year-old Christopher Lewis Greer. When the altercation escalated, Parchmon made calls for help.
By the time assistance arrived at the Niagara Street apartment, Parchmon was found unresponsive at the scene. Her sister, Shyanna, was discovered critically wounded and was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Before succumbing to her injuries, Shyanna identified Greer as the shooter.
Following the shooting, Greer fled the scene in Parchmon's 2006 Dodge Charger. The vehicle was later found abandoned in Ypsilanti Township near Michigan Avenue and Hewitt Road. Authorities have been searching for Greer, who is considered armed and dangerous. The U.S. Marshals Service has offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest.
Family members revealed that Greer had been physically abusive towards Parchmon for months prior to the incident, and she was in the process of evicting him from their shared apartment. The community has rallied around the grieving family, holding vigils and creating a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral expenses for the two sisters.
