Dontae Deshawn Norris, a 20-year-old U.S. Army National Guard soldier, tragically lost his life on July 28, 2014, in Detroit, Michigan. The incident occurred during a carjacking on Detroit's west side, specifically in the parking lot of the Superland Market on Schoolcraft Road near Rutland Street. According to reports, Norris was getting out of his car when he was approached by Devon Berry, who pointed a gun at him and announced a carjacking.
