In the early morning hours of May 9, 2015, the life of 35-year-old Derick Roland Nelson was tragically cut short in what remains an unsolved crime. A well-known and liked event promoter in the Detroit area, Nelson was fatally shot in the parking lot of his supposedly secure gated apartment community.
