Bruce Williams, a 35-year-old police officer with the Detroit Police Department, tragically lost his life on December 5, 1990. Officer Williams was off duty and pumping gas at a station on East Eight Mile Road near Ryan Road around 11:30 p.m. when he was approached by assailants. In an attempt to take action against the robbery, he was shot twice in the chest and succumbed to his injuries.
