In the summer of 2015, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of 44-year-old Derek Ferrone Johnson in his hometown of Flint, Michigan. On the evening of August 4th, Johnson was near the city's downtown bus terminal when he was tragically shot. He was rushed to Hurley Medical Center, but succumbed to his injuries, leaving a community to grapple with the sudden loss.
