William Perez Sr., 27, was last seen on October 2, 1990, in Wilmington, Delaware. He had called his wife at around 2:30 p.m., promising to meet her shortly to go shopping. From the background noise on the call, she suspected he was at a local bar, likely the Scoreboard Bar & Grill on Maryland Avenue, where Perez was known to frequent. Despite his promise to return home, he never arrived, and his van was later found parked near the bar, oddly crooked with its windows rolled down.
His wife reported him missing on October 6, 1990.
Perez was later believed to have been murdered by James Christopher DeAngelo, who was convicted in 1999 for the crime. DeAngelo reportedly shot Perez when he visited DeAngelo’s home to collect on a debt. Although DeAngelo confessed to the murder, Perez’s body has never been found. Authorities believe Perez’s body may have initially been buried in a shallow grave and later dismembered and discarded in the Christina River.
