In the early morning hours of March 30, 2016, the life of 25-year-old Tyrone O'Neal Anderson was tragically cut short in a targeted shooting in Muskegon Heights, Michigan. Anderson, a Black male, was driving his car northbound on Seaway Drive, near the intersection of Hoyt Street, at approximately 3:20 a.m. when the fatal attack occurred. He was not alone in the vehicle; a female passenger was with him at the time of the incident.
According to police, it is believed that another vehicle was following Anderson's car. Occupants of the trailing vehicle opened fire, unleashing a barrage of bullets over a distance of about a quarter of a mile. Anderson was struck by the gunfire, causing him to lose control of his vehicle. His car eventually came to a stop at the intersection. The female passenger in his car sustained minor injuries during the assault, primarily from shattered glass.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but Anderson's injuries proved to be fatal.
