Deontae Mitchell, a 13-year-old boy from Detroit, Michigan, tragically lost his life on May 31, 2016. The events leading to his death began when Deontae and his cousin were riding their bikes near Nino's Market on the east side of Detroit. They encountered Gregory Walker, who appeared to be intoxicated and dropped approximately $70 while urinating outside the store. Deontae picked up the money, and the boys rode away. However, this seemingly innocent act set off a chain of horrific events.
