In a tragic turn of events on May 6, 2017, Murray Upshaw, a 39-year-old visually impaired man, was fatally shot in his home on Epworth Street in Detroit, Michigan. The incident, which also claimed the life of 27-year-old Sharietta Jefferson, unfolded after a verbal altercation escalated into deadly violence. At the time of his death, Upshaw was a new father to a baby girl.
