In the early hours of New Year's Day 2017, a celebration in Detroit turned into a scene of tragedy, leaving a father and son dead. Lavar Edwards, a 39-year-old male, and his 21-year-old son, Dewan Davis, were fatally shot outside a party on Faust Street, near Tireman Avenue. The two, who were described as being very close and even worked together, were reportedly screaming outside shortly before the gunshots rang out around 4 a.m.
