On the evening of October 19, 2020, a dispute inside a gas station on the 9900 block of Warren in Detroit escalated into a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 31-year-old Quincy Nicen. The male victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died from his injuries.
An argument reportedly occurred between two men inside the gas station. After Nicen, the older of the two, left the establishment, a passenger in the backseat of a tan Buick Century opened fire, striking him.
The investigation led authorities to identify Romeo Davis of Detroit as the suspected shooter. At the time of the incident, Davis had been out of prison for approximately one year, having previously served a sentence for unarmed robbery.
Following the investigation, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office filed multiple charges against Romeo Davis. These charges included first-degree premeditated murder, firearm possession by a felon, and two counts of felony firearm. Davis was subsequently arraigned in the 36th District Court in Detroit, where he was denied bond. His case was scheduled for a preliminary examination in late November 2020.
