In the winter of 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered the midday calm in Flint, Michigan, claiming the life of 19-year-old Daveonte Deshawn Small. A Black male, Small was in a vehicle, leaving an Auto Zone on Clio Road on January 26th, when he was fatally shot.
