James Earl Smothers, also known as "Prince Semaj," was tragically murdered on September 17, 2017, in Saginaw, Michigan. He was 26 years old at the time of his death. Smothers was born on July 21, 1991, in Saginaw to Sandra Primm and James Gunn. He grew up in Saginaw and attended Saginaw Public Schools, including Saginaw High School.
