Death by Force

On March 21, 2024, 19-year-old Jason Lamar Porterfield Jr. was shot in the head at the Birch Park Apartments in Saginaw, Michigan. He succumbed to his injuries two days later, on March 23, 2024.

In the aftermath of his death, Jason's family, including his stepfather Dominique Alexander, called on Saginaw city leaders to address the violence associated with the Birch Park Apartments. They urged the city to shut down the complex, citing its history of violence and neglect.
