In the spring of 2021, the life of 16-year-old Carmelo DaRon Jackson was tragically cut short in Saginaw, Michigan. A young man known for his sense of humor and willingness to help others, he was fatally shot on April 17th of that year. Carmelo was a student at Bridgeport High School, where he was in the 10th grade. He had a passion for basketball, football, and music.
Remembered as a fun and loving individual, Carmelo was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and cousin. His family described him as someone who could always make people laugh. He was known for his kind heart, often giving clothes to those in need and money to the homeless. His sudden and violent death left his family and community in mourning.
Following the shooting, the Saginaw Police Department, in conjunction with the Michigan State Police, began an investigation into the homicide. Authorities publicly identified Carmelo as the victim of the weekend shooting and began seeking information from the public to help solve the case. As of late 2025, there have been no publicly announced arrests, and no suspects have been named in connection with the death of Carmelo DaRon Jackson. The investigation into his unsolved murder remains ongoing.
