In the autumn of 2017, the Detroit music scene was struck by violence with the death of Rodney Yeargin, a 29-year-old male rapper professionally known as Doughboy Roc. On the afternoon of Monday, October 9th, Yeargin was sitting in his white Hyundai on the city's west side, near the intersection of Stoepel Street and Westfield Avenue.
