Tarance Smith, a 35-year-old resident of Detroit, Michigan, tragically lost his life on January 1, 2018, in a violent incident that also claimed the life of his girlfriend, Theresa Watts. The couple was at Watts' home on McKinney Street when a gunman entered and fatally shot both of them. Smith was shot in the face, while Watts was shot in the head. The horrific event occurred while Watts' three children were present in the home.
