In the early hours of July 5th, a Fourth of July block party on Cherrylawn Street on Detroit's west side turned into a scene of tragedy. Jordan Thornhill, a 23-year-old recent graduate of Michigan State University, was fatally shot at approximately 12:50 a.m. Thornhill, a beloved son and brother, had a promising future ahead of him and was known for his vibrant spirit. He was at the party with friends and fraternity brothers to celebrate the holiday.
