On May 1, 2013, 26-year-old Jordan West-Morson was fatally shot outside a gas station on East 8 Mile Road in Detroit, Michigan. West-Morson was reportedly selling CDs at the location when he became involved in a verbal altercation with Robert Tyus, a Detroit Transit Center officer.
