Charles Knott, a 54-year-old Detroit native, was shot and killed on April 30, 2013, in Detroit, Michigan. Knott, a beloved figure in the community, had spent over 30 years in the Detroit Public Schools system, rising from being a janitor to becoming the longtime coach of the girls’ basketball team at Cody High School.
