Collin James Rose, a 29-year-old police officer with the Wayne State University Police Department, was tragically shot and killed on November 22, 2016, in Detroit, Michigan. Rose was conducting an investigation into a series of thefts near the Wayne State University campus when he attempted to stop and question a bicyclist. During this encounter, Rose was shot in the head and later succumbed to his injuries on November 23, 2016, at Detroit Receiving Hospital.
