On June 22, 2024, Deputy Bradley J. Reckling, a 30-year-old veteran of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office in Detroit, Michigan, was tragically killed in the line of duty. While pursuing a stolen 2022 Chevy Equinox in the Detroit suburb of Madison Heights, the vehicle's occupants abruptly stopped and ambushed him, opening fire without warning.
