In the summer of 2018, the life of 22-year-old Aundre J. Sanders was tragically cut short in his hometown of Benton Harbor, Michigan. On the night of July 1st, what began as a party in the 1000 block of Lavette descended into violence that would leave a family grieving and a community searching for answers. As officers from the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety were working to clear the large gathering, the sound of gunshots pierced the night air from the nearby 900 block of Lavette.
