Marcas Dontae Purnell Jr., a 19-year-old resident of Benton Harbor, Michigan, tragically lost his life on April 10, 2020. Born on November 5, 2000, in St. Joseph, MI, Marcas was known to his family and friends as "Gio". On the night of his death, multiple gunshots were heard in the southeast area of Benton Harbor. Officers on patrol responded to the scene and found Marcas wounded by gunfire and unresponsive. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
