On a summer evening in Benton-harbor, MI, tragedy struck 19-year-old Taj’ Jacquez-Armani Carter. On July 21, 2020, the young man, known affectionately as “Nukie” to his loved ones, was fatally shot in the chest while in the parking lot of a Phillips 66 gas station on Pipestone Road.
