On a warm summer night in Detroit, the life of 40-year-old Daniel Williams, a father of three, was tragically cut short in a hail of bullets. In the early morning hours of August 20, 2018, Williams had stepped outside the El Capri Lounge on the city's east side to take a phone call. It was a place he frequented and felt safe. Moments later, someone called his name, and as he turned, he was shot multiple times in the head and chest, collapsing on the pavement.
