On a summer evening in Topeka, Kansas, 62-year-old Jerrie Lyn Ross, a White female, was in her front yard on August 5, 2020, when her life was tragically cut short. An innocent bystander, she was struck by a stray bullet from a sudden eruption of gunfire. The shootout, which involved at least two parties exchanging fire, turned her quiet neighborhood into a crime scene.
