Jeffrey Matthews, a 60-year-old resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan, tragically lost his life on September 8, 2019. Matthews was fatally shot in the early hours of the morning on the northeast side of Grand Rapids. According to the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD), the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Clancy Avenue NE near Cedar Street NE. Matthews was not the intended target of the shooting; he was simply in the "wrong place at the wrong time".
