On a Friday evening in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the life of 25-year-old Mosi Dehaan Birge was tragically cut short. On September 25, 2020, Birge was the victim of a fatal shooting on Highland Street SE, near Lafayette Avenue SE. The incident, which unfolded around 8:20 p.m., also claimed the life of 55-year-old Marty Ferris Beal, marking a somber weekend for the city.
