In the cold of February 2020, the city of Flint, Michigan, was shaken by a grim discovery that marked its first homicides of the year. Winfred Ricky Galloway, a 40-year-old Black man known for his skill in home repairs and his infectious humor, was found dead on February 18th. He was not alone. Alongside him were two other victims, 26-year-old Mariah Wells and 49-year-old Casius Childress, all three having been fatally shot.
