In the late summer of 2016, the life of Jamarr Jacquale McKenzie, a 24-year-old Black man from Flint, Michigan, was tragically cut short. On August 28, 2016, McKenzie was fatally wounded in a shooting. He was rushed to Hurley Medical Center, but succumbed to his injuries, leaving a void in the lives of his family and friends. Known affectionately by nicknames such as 'Meezy' and 'Landlord,' he was remembered as a cherished father, son, and friend.
