In the early hours of a summer morning in Benton Harbor, Michigan, a large gathering in a parking lot turned into a scene of violence, leaving a young man's life cut tragically short. On June 7, 2020, 18-year-old Tyreik Payton-Daniels, an American Indian male, was shot and killed. The incident, which also resulted in injuries to two other individuals, sent ripples of sorrow and concern through the community.
