Known affectionately as 'Greedy,' Davies was a well-regarded mechanic and an honorary member of the Highwaymen Motorcycle Club for over two decades, known for his willingness to help his neighbors.
On the night of June 11, 2020, firefighters were called to a house fire on Helen Street near Seven Mile.
Inside the burning home, they made a grim discovery: the bodies of three men. The victims, who were burned beyond recognition, were found positioned in a front room, two on a couch and one in a chair. Investigators determined that at least two of the men had been shot. Witnesses reported seeing someone fleeing the scene as the house became engulfed in flames around midnight, leading authorities to believe the fire was deliberately set to conceal the murders.
The initial investigation into the suspicious deaths led Detroit police to question two individuals, though no immediate arrests were made. A significant break in the case came in September 2020. A 38-year-old man, also associated with a local motorcycle club, became a person of interest. This individual barricaded himself in a home on the city's west side after allegedly shooting at police during a traffic stop. Following a tense standoff that lasted for hours, he was taken into custody. Authorities identified him as a suspect in the triple homicide that claimed the life of Ron Davies.
Despite this development and the identification of a primary suspect, formal charges in connection with the murders of Ron Davies and the other two victims have not been announced.
