Courtney Latrie Neely

In the summer of 2020, a tragedy unfolded in Ypsilanti, Michigan, cutting short the life of Courtney Latriece Neely, a Black woman who had been striving to build a new life for herself and her infant child. On July 15th of that year, Neely was killed by her former partner, Michael Taylor, in a devastating act of domestic violence. After taking her life, Taylor then killed himself in a murder-suicide. Miraculously, their four-month-old baby was found alive at the scene.
